From OCUM, I can only see the throughput on each LIF's for intercluster on node node, Latency and IOPS cannot be showed.
What will be the ways to figure out if I have latency issues on the VLAN for intercluster LIF's?

Is ONTAP Select vNAS on vSAN support NDMP. We have a need to backup our CIFS shares to tape that will be moving from a NetApp NAS to vSAN.
Thanks in advance,

Hi ,
We have cluster setup of 2 node cluster across 2 VM's - I attempt to SSH into the mgmt interface via PuTTY and I receive "Access Denied" even m putting correct password . I also tried with system manager , getting same error . Am not able to figure out what's wrong with this. Moreover , we are able to take ssh session with node interface IP.Below are some finding.

Greetings,
I seem to be having a bit of a problem with my snapmirroring. Here are the specifics:
Mode 7
Snapmirror.conf is correct as some snapmirror complete while others do not
DR SAN show "destination is offline, is restricted or does not exist for those that fail
Is there a command that I can run via CLI to fix this issue? Seeing all of that red is getting to me and I cannot figure out why.
Appreicate the support. Thanks.
James
Hello all-
Is there a way to send out autosupports to different groups based upon the error ? One of my filers got up to 109 degrees, and was sending out autosupports...I would like to send envirmental alerts to my Dcops group as well as the storage team...ideas ?
New feature request ?
Hello!
Now that the following commands have been deprecated:
::> event route ?
add-destinations (DEPRECATED)-Add destination(s) to an event definition
modify (DEPRECATED)-Modify an event's destination, reporting threshold, or both
remove-destinations (DEPRECATED)-Remove destination(s) from an event definition
show (DEPRECATED)-Display event routes
I was curious if there were alternatives to them... specifically around 'treshold' tolerance?
We used the features to make alerts for things like 'wafl.dir.size.warning' a little more tolerable... with this change we've lost our ability to modify our previously set thresholds.
Thanks,

Hi everyone, I am new here so please go easy on me.
At my work place we use NetApp On Command for our unified storage solution/SAN. We also have all our critical volumes mirrored to our DR facility using Snap Mirror.
Link between main and DR facility is 100Mbps. Local IP range at main site and DR site has different subnet and IP range, but are routable under normal conditions.
i.e. Main site = 10.10.1.xxx/255.255.248.0 DR site 10.10.2.xxx/255.255.255.0
In regards to Microsoft Hyper-V to which we use, currently our Hyper-V VM hosts (2012 R2) each have an iSCSi drive attached for the individual VM's of that host. The VM host's iSCSI drives are connected to volumes on our main NetApp SAN using Snap Drive.
During DR including during DR practice drills; we quiesce and break the volumes from our main site and then mount the iSCSI drives on the DR Hyper-V hosts from the mirrored volumes down in DR, what of course become writable once the mirror has been broken.
Now earlier today I was casually researching about Microsoft clustering services and it's integration with Hyper-V, but could not quite work out how you would integrate it with NetApp and how one could set up a system where should our main site (including the NetApp system) go offline, how one would automatically fail over Hyper-V hosts to DR without manually having to break mirror volumes and then manually mounting the iSCSI drives from the DR Hyper-V hosts.
In other simplified words:
1) How one would do live and automatic Hyper-V clustering between two physical sites where the iSCSI disks are stored and crossed synced on the NetApp SAN at both sites...
1a) ...and the backup DR site with the Hyper-V hosts would need to take over automatically and remain up should the main site and it's NetApp SAN go completely down?
Essentially a 2 way cross sync between NetApp volumes at both sites, with data on volumes at the main site taking precedence over newer data on volumes at DR site.
Consistency issues possible i fear?
Regards: Elliott.
Do we have a plan to support LTO-8 ?
My customer bought AFF A700s and Quantum at the same time.
I couldn'f fine Compatibility, So I need to know when I can get to support file for LTO-8 .
I would like to know if there's an easy way to get a daily email report on all the volumes in the cluster that are used above a certain percentage (eg: all volumes used above 90%). The OCUM keeps sending warning emails on individual volumes above the threshold we have configured but not able to find a way to generate a single daily report for this requirement.
My customer has been operating Netapp FAS with snaplock and EMC centera for a long time. ( almost 10 years and over 400TB)
This time they are going to change all to NetApp FAS.
The existing FAS systems are all 7-mode. they are OK.
But how to migrate centera to c-mode.
If you have a document about it or have experience, please share it.
Hello all,
With SMB3 support available on Windows OS releases Server 2012, WIN8 & later persistent handle support has become available. Since ONTAP9 continuously available (CA) shares have also become an option. There is however a caveat in TR 4100 (https://www.netapp.com/us/media/tr-4100.pdf) which states
"ONTAP 9 does not support persistent handles for use cases other than Microsoft Hyper-V over SMB and SQL Server over SMB".
We are curious about this statement. We have created standard CIFS File Shares with CA enabled and successfully performed multiple takeover and givebacks without disruption to CIFS activity. Testing the same shares with the CA option disabled was, as expected, disruptive. Does anyone understand why standard windows shares with CA enabled are not officially supported and\ or have any experience of using them in a production environment?
best regards, D
(Btw - I created a similar post on here yesterday which has disappeared!)
SnapShots will be changed as we remove or change the data in the datastore.
My question, can vmotion in vSphere change the size of SnapShots in a datastore on the storage?
Hi all,
We have a netapp FAS2552.
I created Cluster-management LIF with wrong name and wrong IP address.
How can I edit this LIF with correct informations?
Awaiting for your feedback.

Dear Team,
We are using FAS 8020. One of our application requires 40 MB/s throughput on a virtual machine. Ontap version is 8.3 cluster mode
We run vertica utility on VM and found only 25 to 35 mb/s throughput. We are using 10k rpm SAS disk and total 22 data disks dedicated aggregate for this task.
We had tuned our Linux VM for better performance like an eager thick disk. Only one VM on single esxi server etc.
We have also provided FC RDM lun but expected performance not achieved.
Please help us to guide how we can achieve this.
Hello,
I would like to repurpose an old FAS2220 (dual controller) and so I installed the the latest available CDOT 9.1 for the FAS2220.
I'm facing two problems and I would like to know iof there is a solution or I need to use the storage as single node cluster.
1) My FAS2220 hasn't the 10GBE mezzanine card and so i cannot use 10GBit for cluster interconnect, and I would like to know if it's possible/suppported to use two 1GBit ports for the interconnection.
2) The system has 12 1GB SATA disks and i would like to use them in shared mode and so using the first 6 partition1 for the root of node1 and the other 6 partition1 for the root of node2, while using the remaining space of all 6 disks for a single aggregate. Is this possible/supported?
Thanks
Giuseppe
Hi Folks,
According to this KB:
https://kb.netapp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1000287
In the output of sis status -l for the same volume, the following line is included:
Logical Data: 3509 GB/49 TB (7%)
Logical 4K records are = 919863296
Total checked 4K records are = 18115836411
Hence, Filer is consuming total 4KB blocks = 18115836411 - 919863296 = 17195973115 (4K records)
Total size in TB = 17195973115 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 = 16TB
Does that mean = out of 49 TB, 16Tb is been consumed by stale-fingerprints, and if consider 20% of total logical data i.e = 20 % 3509GB = 701GB = 0.7 TB
Total space that can be recovered = 16 - 0.7 = 15.3Tb can be recovered
Is that correct calculation ?
Thanks
Ash
I understand aggregate level deduplication is not supported for volumes encrypted by NVE. Is anyone able to confirm whether or not this is being roadmapped in future releases of OnTap?
Thanks!

Hi guys,
We recently deployed a AFF 200A filer running ontap 9.3 and when using the browser, we get ssl errors from the self signed certs. Obviously this is expected behaviour. I would like to add our wildcard cert for our internal domain to get rid of this nusance as we do with any other vendor's web based management portal. I did some googling and found this article but it seemed it was geared for renewing the self signed certs for various components like SVMs and controllers https://kb.netapp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1032196
I have my pub, priv and ca chain in pem format and just need some documentation to point me to the right direction. PS I have a support case open since yesterday with no help besides being asked for screenshots of the broswer error (WTF?) case 2007441219
Any support from the community would be greatly appreciated.
