Is it possible that pool1 disks exist in the shelf of another HA pair?
There is a 4 nodes cluster, node1/node2 is a HA pair, node3/node4 is another HA pair. I want to use "aggr create aggr1 -mirror true" command to create a mirrored aggregate. Pool0 disks is in the shelf that is connected on node1/node2 HA pair. when assigning pool1 disks, Can I use these disks in the shelf that connected on node3/node4 HA pair? As per MetroCluster's disk assignment layout, it seems possible that Pool1 disks exist in another HA pair.

OnTAP Deploy Bundled Version
Hello,
Not sure why this information is so difficult to find. A year ago I deployed OnTAP Deploy 9.5.2113 (2.11.3) with our first OnTAP Select instances. The Deploy version came bundled with OnTAP 9.5P6.
I'm going to patch OnTAP to 9.5P13. I would like to upgrade the Deploy utility to version 9.5.2114 (2.11.4) just to keep it in the 9.5 family, but I can't find any documentation on which OnTAP version this corresponds to. I realize I will be deploying the OnTAP upgrade normally but I want to know which OnTAP version corresponds with this Deploy upgrade to get a rough idea of which one it's designed to correspond to.
The PDF below gives the answer for 2.11.1 and 2.11.2, but not .3 (the one I'm on) or .4 (the one I'm going to). The Deploy documentation page skips 2.11.4 so I can't get to the release notes for that version. Any ideas?

Replacement Disk broken - how to dowgrade firmware?
Hi - any help appreciated. I replaced a disk on my 3220 (Ontap 9.1P14) with an identical disk. The only difference I can see is the firmware is NA02 while all the other disks are NA01. The disk reports init failed and broken - I did try unfail and also "storage disk firmware revert -disk..disk #" but still not working and showing same firmware on re plugging in. I have tried several disks from the replacements and all behave the same.
Any ideas please? Garry

We need to migrate all existing configuration and data from FAS2552 ro FAS2720, and convert FAS2552 to DS2246.

- 1 LUN VMware and 3 Volumes of NFS

Goals:
1. We need to migrate from FAS2552 to FAS2720
2. After migrate, we need to wipe for FAS2552
3. After wipe FAS2552, we need to convert FAS2552 to DS2246
how to do that, and what is the best way ?
is that any deep concern to do this ?

SSH admin Login without password - Domain Group User
Hi there. I've reviewed the following link, but have a unique (surely not) problem.
My admin user account is part of an AD Admin Group, the GROUP has access to logon to the Cluster & we are not allowed to have individual account access. They want admin access controlled through the AD group. So thats all fine and works, but I want to setup key pair login with my AD authenticated account via SSH. The above article says I need my own individual account access on the cluster to upload my pub key.
I guess I'm wondering if my AD auth can be forwarded to either System Manager or my SSH session? OR how do I make SSH login work with a key pair while using an AD Group account? Hopefully that makes sense.

Using IP address instead of Logical Interface for NFS mount?
In stead of using LIF, for instance, "vserver-lif1", if I use an IP address "10.172.19.8", will it gets failed to the other node in case of something wrong with the connection?

Replace SATA 3TB disks by 8TB NL-SAS is possible?

The customer has a FAS8080 with some X308 3TB disks, but haven´t any more spares. On the same cluster, he has a FAS9000 with X318 8TB disks and many spares. The doubt is: can I use X318 disks to replace X308 on shelves DS4246? The ONTAP version is 9.1P1.

IOM6 to IOM12 upgrade, performance results?
Hello,
I am thinking about upgrading the complete FAS2750 stack we have from IOM6 to IOM12. Does anybody have any experience with the performance increase when doing this? The SAS and SSD disks we have do all support 12 Gb/s, only not the SATA shelf. I am wondering or it's worth the money to upgrade all IOM6 to IOM12 modules. In theory there should be a 100% perofrmance increase isn't it?

reestablishing a snapmirror after deleting snapshot
I had to delete the snapshot prior to the snapmirror process running. Now I'm getting an error of "No common Snapshot copy found between SSPC_SVM:SSPCVol1 and DR_SSPC:SSPCVol1_1_dst."
Is there a way to restart this process or do I have start from scratch on the relationship?
I have not broken the relationship.

Forward Event Logs on non-Standard Port

Have a FAS2620 running ONTAP 9.3. We need to send the Event logs to a location using a non-standard port, 5514 vice 514. Can that be done? The command syntax does not look like it does.

Planning outage on our DR target node
Hello Folks,
We have a DR FAS8020 (single node "cluster") system in another building that serves solely as a target for DR on our primary clusters (mirror & vault of a bunch of volumes). Over a hundred primary volumes each replicate out at some point during the day, and some subset of these would fail if the DR "cluster" was unavailable.
We're about to make our DR "cluster" unavailable from 2-6 hours in the near future to power the controller down and add an IOM12 module, and a DS212C shelf. While this system is powered down, aside from ugly messages in OnCommand/ActiveIQ, will anything else happen on the primary clusters that I need to worry about or plan for?
I'm guessing no, but since I'm not a storage guy, I figured the safest thing to do was ask.

About vserver audit function
HI All
I build a OnTAP simulator lab server and want to collect audit log...
so I create a CIFS volume to let user place their data (eningeering), the root mount (/) I name is nsroot
I also
create a volume which name is audit...
I create audit role and enable it
(1).vserver audit create -vserver netapp-svm1 -destination "/nsroot/audit" -events file-ops -format xml -rotate-size 10MB -rotate-limit 10
(2).vserver audit enable -vserver netapp-svm1
I try to create a testing on engineer volume and audit volume , and add some content to these files...but the audit xml file seem no detect any change event....
Could I ask when I create such audit role....for my SVM...what scope that audit log could monitor ?? ( root mount / engineering & audit) or only audit volume ??
about file-ops parameter....does it could monitor any file action (create/modity/rename/delete&permission change )??

is it right, that ONTAP Select is creating automatically a Cluster Base License like ONTAP with FAS/AFF?
Because since the newest Version all ONTAP Select Cluster got the same Cluster Base License.

How to change the disk ID's ?
We have 5 different 4 nodes clusters running an at the moment and almost in every cluster the disk ID's are different. For example in one they are the following when running the command "disk show":
Disk id 5.0.0, 5.0.1, etc and 7.0.0, 7.0.1, etc
When you start from scratch your disk id's are 0.0.0 or 1.0.0 (not sure or it starts at zero or one). Is it possible to change the disk ids from Disk id 5.0.0, 5.0.1, etc and 7.0.0, 7.0.1, etc into Disk id 1.0.0, 1.0.1, etc and 2.0.0, 2.0.1, etc? And if so how do you do this?

SnapCenter backup target
Hello,
My customer does want to keep their Ontap OnPrem SnapCenter backups on public clouds like Azure, AWS or GCP. Will it be possible to keep them on S3 storage in a direct way (like we do with HCI/Solidfire) or the only way would be to subscribe Cloud Volumes Ontap on such public clouds? We thank your help

updating ontap 9.1 on FAS2240 system image upload
Hello;
I want to update our FAS 2240 to the newest cdot 9.1P20 Image.
so i downloaded the image successfully:
Software get http://.../91P20_q_image.tgz completed on node cluster3-01.
But with cluster3::*> system image show i see only the previos 2 Images:
